As we all know, global warming is a major threat to our planet's future. When we talk about this subject, we are not talking about how hot were the temperatures this summer compared to the last year. We are talking about climate change, effects that are or will be visible in our health, environment and weather over time.
Besides some of the effects of the global warming, this blog will include statistics and latest news regarding our behavior with our planet.
You are invited to share your opinion and beliefs.
Global warming has profound effects in various fields . It causes or will cause sea level rise, extreme weather, melting glaciers, extinction of numerous species and changes in human health. Against global warming is leading a sustained struggle, whose central aspect is the ratification by governments of the Kyoto Protocol on reducing emissions of pollutants that affect the speed of warming.
ReplyDelete70% reduction in emissions of greenhouse gases, particularly carbon dioxide, in the twenty-first century would save the glaciers in the Arctic and avoid the disastrous consequences caused by global warming, according to a study released. Antarctic warming area would be reduced roughly in half so that would help save fish, seabirds and polar animals such as white bears, especially in the northern Bering Sea. While temperatures continue to rise, most dangerous aspects of global warming (melting ice, reduce permafrost, increasing sea levels) could be partially avoided, explains Warren Washington, a researcher at NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research), lead author of study.
ReplyDeleteReally interesting information on your blog. Its a plus that now a day society is recognizing this issue more and more everyday. Its a shame though that a lot of animals as well as people are dying from global warming on a daily basis. Back in the 1970s when you said something about global warming, you were immediately looked at as a hippie and usually no one would pay attention to what you have to say. Did you know that human only contribute with a 2% of the world's carbon dioxide? However, that 2% is equal to millions of tons of carbon dioxide. It would be interesting for you to do a blog on how we can reduce our "carbon print" on an everyday basis. A list of things that we could do in a greener way.
